Planned

The Museum

A visitor centre and museum that open the story, from Al-Qurayyah and Banu Sadus to the village today.

A museum presenting the history, collections and memory of Sadus, complementing the village's role as an open-air museum.

Visitor centre and museum

In the phase-one plan for Al-Balad, the visitor centre and the museum share one site, the first place to welcome visitors and prepare them for their walk through the village.

A memory worth showing

Sadus has much to tell: ancient writing on two stones found in Sadus by King Saud University in the 1990s, inscriptions in the hills to the north, and a basin carved from stone that was given to the King Saud University museum in 1385 AH.

The art of the Najdi house

The houses of Sadus also hold an art worth showing: plaster niches and shelves framed by carved geometric patterns, a testament to the skill of the village builders.

A museum the village already knew

When the heritage village of Sadus reopened after the Covid pandemic, it included a village museum holding a number of historic pieces. The new museum builds on that beginning.
