Development that keeps the spirit of the place
The Sadus project rests on respect for the existing urban fabric and the human scale of the village: every new intervention should be a quiet extension of the place, never something that overwhelms it.
It works along four lines: conservation, restoring buildings and historic features true to their origins; adaptive reuse, bringing houses and spaces back to life with cultural, hospitality and educational uses; the public realm; and wayfinding.

Phase one: Al-Balad
The first phase of development focuses on Al-Balad, the oldest quarter of Sadus. Its plan brings together the visitor centre and museum, the old school, the popular market, the village inn and the public realm of walkways and squares.
From basic infrastructure to a complete experience
The vision for development is to use resources well for sustainable growth. Operation builds up from basic infrastructure to a complete experience in five steps: furnishing; preparing the infrastructure and basic facilities; maintenance, restoration and cleaning; a calendar of programmes, events and activities; and finally organisation and staffing.
A heritage coming back to life
We see in Sadus a heritage that can live, not just a site to preserve and restore. Rather than turning it into a static museum, the place is reactivated to become part of daily life again: a destination that welcomes visitors, supports the local economy and protects its cultural identity.
