Season

The Samri Season

When the Najdi nights turn cool, the Samri season celebrates a living folk art among the mud-brick walls.

A winter season in which the village hosts Samri, one of the traditional performing arts of Najd, among its mud-brick houses.

A living cultural practice

A winter season that celebrates Samri as a living cultural practice rather than a show from the past. Samri is one of the folk arts of Najd, and in Sadus it returns to a setting worthy of it.

Winter evenings in the village

In winter, evening is the loveliest time in the village: cool air, mud walls under the lights, people gathering in the courtyards. A heritage setting that gives rhythm and verse another meaning.

A square for folk arts

The heritage village of Sadus has a square for folk performances. During Nuqoosh, the programme launched by the Heritage Commission in 2022 on the Al-Jubailah to Sadus route, traditional performances and cultural tours told the stories of the place.
