Between Tuwaiq and the Abkain
Sadus is bounded to the west by the Tuwaiq escarpment and to the east by the twin Abkain hills, which Al-Hamdani described: "you come to the village beyond the Abkain, two small horn-shaped hills". The hills that once protected the town are now where walkers head.
Valleys and ravines
Sadus lies at the head of Wadi Watr, which splits above the town into two branches, Al-Rakzah and Suwaisa, and is fed by some twenty ravines, among them Wadi Ghayanah with its ravine of Harqan. The landscape around it mixes hills, plateaus and valleys, with talh and salam acacias.
Old tracks
Old tracks linked Sadus with its neighbours: the Abkain road, the main route to Al-Uyaynah, Darb Habudal in Shaib Al-Darb, and the track to Malham. On some of them you walk today where travellers walked before you.
Towards the Edge of the World
Sadus sits on a natural and cultural route that runs to the Edge of the World on the Tuwaiq escarpment, a natural extension of a day in the village.
